Our commitment

WCAG 2.1 AA · and a plan for every person on the hill.

Our online experience targets WCAG 2.1 AA. On the hill, we're committed to access for attendees who use mobility devices, are Deaf or hard of hearing, are blind or have low vision, have sensory or cognitive disabilities, or have any health condition that benefits from extra planning.

Magnetic World is held on the Garrison Grounds · a heritage site with uneven ground in places. We work with venue, security, and our production team to surface the best routes and supports.

On the hill

  • Accessible entry lane. Use the GA+ fast-entry lane at the gates. It is open to attendees with accessibility needs on any ticket type, and to the person coming with you, so you are not waiting in the general queue.
  • Accessible viewing platform. A raised platform with ramp access faces the main stage, for attendees who use mobility devices and the person with them. There is viewing room both on top of the platform and in front of it.
  • Accessible washrooms. Garrison Grounds' existing accessible facilities plus supplemental ADA-spec porta units throughout the site.
  • Service animals. Credentialed service animals are welcome everywhere on site.
  • ASL on request. We'll book interpreters for specific sets · please give us at least 4 weeks' notice.
  • Communication. Staff have access to written notes and on-app text-based support; we don't rely on verbal-only instructions.
  • Lights and sound. Both nights use lasers, strobes and other flashing effects, and the sound is loud. We don't have a separate sensory-friendly space on site.

Getting here

Halifax Stanfield (YHZ) is about 35 minutes from downtown. Wheelchair-accessible taxis and rideshare are available. Halifax Transit's accessible buses serve the Citadel area; specific service updates for festival days post on the Info page.

Parking. We don't provide parking at the festival site, including accessible parking. The nearest options are downtown paid lots and on-street pay-by-app; wheelchair-accessible taxis and rideshare can bring you to the gate.
